Above are a series of illustrations based on a japanese story about a women who makes the best dumplings in her town. Shes casually making them in her kitchen when her floor caves in and her dumpling goes down with it. She chases the dumpling and finds herself in a new undiscovered world- (which I based on Bulba Hill - the butter world I posted a few weeks ago) Anyway shes running after this dumpling and passes a strange man who tell her to beware as there are creatures who eat people like her further down the path. She decides to ignore this information and continues down the path. Another one of these men grab her, and he tells her to hide behind him as one of the monsters is coming. The hideous monster approaches sniffing the air, sensing a tasty human snack. He spots her but is persuaded to simply keep her as a personal chef, he takes her home to his house where she is given a magic paddle to make her dumplings. This paddle with just one grain of rice, multiplied and multiplied with enough rice to feed all the monsters. But this life wasnt for mrs dumpling, one day she decided to make a run for it. When the monsters went out, she grabbed the paddle and ran down to the lake. There she got in a boat and rowed as fast and far away as she could. Unfortunately the monster find out she was missing and ran after her. She laughs at them thinking how on earth are you going to swim over and catch me- how wrong she was. The monsters start slurping up the water in the lake until her boats stranded on the river bed. They start running towards her, there's nothing she can do, so she decides to grab the paddle and start waving it in their faces. This unexpectedly makes the monsters go into fits of hysterical laughter, so much so that they vomit all the water back up - Mrs dumpling surfs the wave home, paddle in tow and becomes the most success women in town, as she and her magic paddle feed the whole neighbourhood. Quite a nice little story...
